A Monday tradition where I share what I’m making, reading, learning about, listening to, and exploring this week.
Well, this has turned out to be a Tuesday post due to R's teething madness. She's a slobbering, sleep-deprived mess and basically, so am I. So I'm late to write this but I know you'll understand. These first set of teeth come through like a force of nature and cause such drama. I'll be glad when they pop through for good. In the meantime I’m filling these with ice for R to suck on and numb her little gums with.
I'm a huge, huge fan of Katy Bowman. She has single-handedly changed my understanding of the root of bodily discomfort and pain, and beyond that has influenced my life in a dozen different ways at least. So when I came across this article about how walking is a superpower that makes us happier, healthier, and smarter, I was overjoyed. I hope you read it and then go out for a long, long walk yourself.
And speaking about walking, have you heard the theory that exploding stars in the Milky Way caused the human species to walk upright? I don't know what I think about this, but it's interesting to think about.
I love kitchen hacks. While I love homemade meals, I usually want the process streamlined and quick. Enter the muffin tin, and this recipe. I'll never make another potato dish again.
Chris and I have been remodeling an old travel trailer for a while, and we are moving in at the beginning of September. We still have a bunch to do so we'll be spending a lot of time working on it. Because the floors are bare plywood and we're working with power tools and such, I'm making R this hanging swing to sit in while we're down there. I just hope I can get her to stay in it.
Lately I’ve noticed my boobs don’t feel as full in-between feedings, and although R is perfectly fat and plump and healthy, I want to tweak a few things in my diet to bulk up my milk supply. Water and oats are my 2 favorite ways to do this, so I’ll be making lots of my favorite oatmeal that you can find the recipe for here.
I'm about to start reading Darling: A Spiritual Autobiography. It's another thrift store find and I don't know what to expect, but I like the title and the dust jacket and it seems to be a bit poetic. Or a lot poetic. Either way I think I'm in for a treat.
And here's what's on my playlist for the week: On Being: Tending Joy and Practicing Delight; Wit and Delight: 7 Tips for Starting your own Cookbook Club; The Memory Palace: The Prairie Chicken in Wisconsin; How I Built This: Warby Parker; The Accidental Creative: How to Create a Commonplace Book; The Mama Instincts Podcast: How to be a Good and Peaceful Parent when you feel Exhausted; The Parenting Junkie: How to Influence your Child without the use of Words; Little Sprigs: From Wellness to Wholeness with Meg Berryman, and Little Sprigs: Letting go of Agenda.
Okay, now you tell me what your week looks like in the comments below, because the whole point behind this new series is so we can inspire each other to grow and learn and do, so share away :)
